Oscar Claude Monet is a French artist, founder, leader and unwavering defender of Impressionism style. It is considered to be a model of entourage because its dedication to the ideals of impressionism has not changed throughout his career. The fact that one of his paintings ("Impression, Rising Sun", Paris, 1872) also gives the name of the movement.
"The Japanese Bridge (The Water-Lily Pond, Symphony in Rose)" (1899) reminds of the work of Kameido Tenjin (1856), but Monet uses bright colors, reflections, refraction of light.
Monet considers the greatest achievement of his Water Garden in Giverny. It drains the marsh that was there and through a canal system brought water from the nearby river, creating a lake. Above the lake, a Japanese-style bridge with white and purple flowers rises. The garden is surrounded by weeping willows and tapestry tufts.
